Consisting of 5 pieces--two dresser jars--one large, one medium, a nail file, a brush and a mirror; this sterling silver art nouveau dresser set by the American silver company Foster & Bailey depicts two lovers on a tree swing amid floral blossoms and leaves. Sometimes called Paul & Virginia the pattern was introduced in 1905. With tight fitting lids, both dresser jays are signed with the F&B flag on the lower edge and pat. 2063, and 2064. The larger jar has many tiny holes on the top of the silver, but the medium sized jar has only two tiny holes in the girl's hair & dress. The crystal glass is a similar with starbursts on the bottoms. The diameter of one jar opening is 3", the other 2 1/2". The nail file is in very good condition with the design on both sides. The brush also is in very good condition with a light ornate monogram of LCP on the top portion. The mirror is in good condition with some side dents, the beveled glass is in excellent condition and looks like new. For being a true antique of the art nouveau period, this romantic set is a rare and wonderful addition to adorn a dresser!
