In lovely shades of lavenders, pinks and dark purples on a light cream colored background, this outstanding parrot trivet or tile by Rookwood Pottery is dated 1927. A square shape measuring 5.75" on each side, this parrot tile has eight triangular feet making it stand about 5/8" in height. The parrot himself is a magnificent bird, covering most of the tile, posed on a branch with turned head. The dark purple blossoms in the tree provide a complimentary background to the parrot. Signed on the back with the Rookwood hallmark and Roman numerals XXVII, it is also numbered 3077. In very good original condition, this is a wonderful piece of American Art Pottery!
