Produced by the Shell Oil Company headquartered in Houston, Texas, as a promotion for purchasing 8 gallons of gas in 1986! Shell commissioned the drawings from Texas artist, Norman Baxter, for exclusive presentation on these Anchor Hocking 6 1/4 " glasses. Each glass features a sketch of a different Texas historical landmark on the front and a detailed discription on the back. Featured are: the San Jacinto Monument in Houston, LaBahia Mission, Goliad, The Alamo, San Antonio, Gonzales Courthouse, Gonzales, Washington-on-the-brazos, and Cable Tool drilling rig circa 1920, Odessa.
The glasses are in excellent unused condition and include the promotional insert. The box has age but had kept the glasses safe and pristine for 29 years.
