This beautiful Original By Robert Necklace has a beautiful rhinestone centerpiece with tiny flowers made of glass rhinestones in clear and pink and two ornate pieces leading up to the central medallion. Typically, this piece reminds one of the classic designer Miriam Haskell with her expert application of baroque pearls in many of her designs.
The pearls in this vintage necklace are about 4mm to 4 3/4 mm each, graduating ever so slightly, round and creamy, some call it "champagne" and so lustrous they seem to have a metallic cast to them.
It measures 17" long, and has a push-in pearl necklace clasp, with a baroque pearl center and a rhinestone floret. It is signed Original by Robert on an oval plaque at the back of the medallion.
The pearls are in very good condition except for a few scuffs (mostly pin-prick size), the pearls have no visible nacre loss with the exception of one of the pearls closest to the medallion where the metal loop has rubbed it off. There are no rhinestones missing and all are bright and shiny. All in all, a very nice piece of vintage costume jewelry.
