Miriam Haskell's secret potion of "Essence d' orient", multiple immersions in a combination of cellulose, fish scales, and other resins gave Miriam Haskell's baroque pearls a superlative lustrous finish unparalleled by her competitors in the costume jewelry world.
This classic single strand designer Haskell baroque pearl necklace displays that famous sheen beautifully.
The pearls in this vintage necklace are a chunky 12mm each, creamy, some call it "champagne" and so lustrous they seem to have a metallic cast to them. They are separated by gilt bead spacers with no verdi gras.
Necklace measures 17" long, including the Haskell extension style pearl necklace clasp, which boasts a 6 pearl wired strand ending in a tiny pearl wired floret hook clasp. It is signed Miriam Haskell by this magnificent costume jewelry designer at the back of the hook clasp.
While the condition of most of the pearls is excellent there is small area of rub near the cap on the pearl right next to the hook clasp and a few others, although not as much. They are on the inner part of the pearl near the caps not the visible portion (shown in photo) neither of which will be seen when worn. Many people won't even report this, as I am being rather picky but I want the exact condition noted. All of my Haskell customers are repeat customers and they expect this dedication from me and I am happy to provide it. Otherwise this lovely jumbo pearl necklace is lustrous and beautiful and these small flaws are hard to detect. It would make such a wonderful complement to any Haskell bracelet in faux pearls that you may own, perhaps you will find one from this recent Haskell collection we have recently listed in our shop.
