Vintage sterling silver bangle with a green bullet shaped green agate. A modernist bracelet reminiscent of Scandinavian type with its sleek minimalist design. This great piece of modernist sterling silver bracelet has an 8 carat green agate cabochon stone in the shape of a bullet. Stone sits into a sterling silver modern setting which sits on a bar the forms the hinged opening. It's a great, sleek bit of minimalist design. Dating this piece to the late 1950's or early 1960's.
The bangle has internal measurements of approximately 2.5" (62 mm) across by 2" (51 mm) high. The opening measures 1.5" (4cm ). The cabochon in its housing sit up 3/4" (13mm) from the base and stone is approximately 8 carats. The band is an equal width all the way around, and measures 5/16" (1cm) wide.
The inside of the band is marked 925 Sterling. The bangle was bought in England but I am not certain of its origins, however stylistically it resembles a Scandinavian design. The bangle s in excellent vintage condition. The cabochon is in perfect condition. The silver has the usual surface wear with light scratches that would be expected on a piece of its age. The silver is slightly tarnished as I have not polished it but can give it a light buff with a polish cloth if desired.
