A charming Art Nouveau sterling and enamel petite sauce ladle by Blackinton Co., Mass., circa 1900. Has a graceful handle with delicately enameled with violet on a white enamel background, framed in elaborate silver work. Enameling is in pristine condition. It is hallmarked sterling, along with a maker's mark at the back by the bottom of the handle. The bowl shows evidence of having been gilt at one time. Piece is in excellent antique condition with some surface scratching on bowl from age and use, though not very visible to the naked eye . Spoon is 5.5" long and bowl is 1-3/4" across and 1/2" deep. A lovely gift or an addition to a more formal table setting.
