Handsome large modernist sterling silver and onyx ring. Onyx is inlaid into a sterling setting that is raised 1/4 " from the shank. Shank is lined or ridged all the way around the finger. The onyx measures 1" by 1/2 ". Ring is large in stature but made for a smaller finger, a size 6. Would fit beautifully on a woman with long delicate fingers. But could also work as a pinky ring for a male or female. Stamped on shank with a star or pentagram a Spanish hallmarks. The pentagram was used from 1934 to present and is usually accompanied by a maker’s mark or importer’s mark. This ring's makers mark is stamped with the letter "Y", I believe but not sure. Onyx is in fine shape no scratches nicks or cracks and silver is showing only very slight signs of use from age and wear. Ring has not been cleaned so has a patina build up that could be buffed out if desired.
