Another wonderful and unusual example of Victorian jewelry. A solid silver bangle or slave bracelet as they were called then with agate and abalone inlay. Beautifully engraved around the inlaid stones and sides. The middle inlay pieces are abalone and the outer are agates. There are also four smaller inlaid agates between the abalone and larger agates. Bangle is in great antique condition with some minor surface scratching from age and wear. Hinge and clasp are in good working order, opens and shuts tightly . One small corner of a shell is either missing a small piece or was mounted that way. It does not detract from the piece at all, in fact I had not noticed it until I photographed it. Bangle measures 2-3/8" (6.5 cm) accross by just under 2" (5.4 cm) in tall. 7-5/8" in circumference. My wrist is approx 6" and it fits comfortably with room to spare. Though not hallmarked it has been tested for sterling silver.
