This is an impressive hand wrought vintage sterling silver collar necklace made in Mexico! From the large sterling silver collar hangs a 40 carat tear shaped faceted and prong set topaz! The collar is 16" long with 1/4" wide bands. It has a 3" wide opening to go around the neck. The collar's flexibility allows it go around the neck easily to lay beautifully around the bust. The pendant drops approximately 3" from the collar; the stone is 1-3/4" long by almost 1" wide and 3/8" deep. This was made after the 1960s. Stamped in 2 spots with: TN-41, 925 with the initials AAR, I believe. In great vintage condition except for a light semi circular surface scratch where, I believe the topaz stone made its mark. May have been badly stored? This can be buffed out by a good silver smith tho and does not detract from the enormous presence of this piece! A good weight but wears comfortably and beautifully around the neck, not too heavy. In fact it is fabulous on, photos do not do it justice! A very modern and clean look.
