A wonderful example of Victorian Vulcanite pendant c.1880s. A finely detailed pear shaped pendant with carving of a bunch of grapes hanging below its leaves. Framing the pendant are carved graduating beads. Vulcanite pendant is in excellent antique condition with no cracks, breaks repairs or discoloration. It still has its warm rich dark glow. It has not been cleaned so you will note some build up of grit over the years in the photos. I can clean it or leave as is. I will let the buyer decide. The ring hoop that allows it to hang from a chain or ribbon is intact. Measures 3" long (including hoop), 2" wide (at its widest point and just about 1" deed with carving. Vulcanite was used extensively for jewelry production in the mid to late 19th century in both Europe and America is a resin derived tree sap of the East Indies. Measures 2 inches high, 1 3/4 inches wide and 3/4 inch deed with carving. Truly fabulous. Great quality carving and a great piece to acquire for those who know and value Vulcanite jewelry.
