This is a fine Boch Freres art pottery box with strong geometric blue enamel designs on a craquelure background, circa 1915. The gilded bronze mounts stamped France. The box is 5.5" long; 4" deep; 2.4" high. There is age discoloration on the inside as shown in photo 4; otherwise, in great vintage condition with no damage. Boch Frères was founded in 1767 in Luxembourg, after disbanding in the middle of the 19th century, Boch Frères, Keramis, was set up. It produced earthenware vases, tableware and candlesticks. The mid 1920s to the 1940s represented the most important Belgian contribution to the Art Deco movement. Today Boch Frères items are highly valued and sought after.
