A very cute antique small mantel clock ca 1890. The wood case with a nice walnut finish patina, with decorative carvings and small brass accents just about in perfect condition, except for an old small wood chip on the right side bottom front corner.
30- hours nickel-plated movement with a horseshoe and star trademark (for Carl Werner Uhrenfabrik in Villingen, Germany) keeps almost perfect time and alarm works fine.
The 2 1/2" celluloid dial (with the bezel 3 1/4") is perfect with a blued steel hands, and the old original glass in the brass bezel also is good, with no chips, cracks or scratches.
The back door closes with a hook.
Overall the clock is in very good condition, keeps good time and alarms works as well, ringing on a nickel plated bell, that is on the bottom of the case.
Dimensions: 13.5" H x 6 3/4"L x 4.5"D
P.S. Carl Werner Uhrenfabrik clock company was founded in 1870 and it was largest movement maker in Germany until 1912. After company burned down, Kienzle took over this company in 1913.
