Black marble three piece clock set with bronze and red marble decorations in Egyptian revival style dates to 1875 and is in all original condition. The solid bronze sphinx to each side of the clock and to each side of the side pieces are very detailed. The black and red marble dial is in perfect condition and marked with the retailer name D. Valentine and Syracuse, N.Y. The beveled glass on the bezel is perfect and the front door cover is working properly. The high quality movement is fully marked with AB in a star, the trademark of Archille Brocot, runs and keep good time for over 12 days between winding. It strikes on the hour and half hour on a gong with a mellow sound. The clock comes with its original numbered pendulum.The movement and pendulum have the same number. The back of the clock has a screw to hang the winding key.
Overall condition of this rare clock set is just about perfect The front left top corner of the clock has a small chip and the back of the clock on the left side top corner, close to the red marble, has a 3/4"chip, that is not so noticeable. One of the side decorative piece on the back is missing two bronze/brass flowers. Please look at the photo.
