A very attractive antique ormolu figural mantel clock with glass dome ca 1830. Angelic winged young boy figure represent the God of Love - Amor. Every detail of the clock represents love: arrows, quiver, bow and torch that can cause wounds and pain for lovers. Also there are floral garland, vessel with roses and wreath of roses, which are favored presents. Amor figure missing his musical instrument: lyre, not noticed from a distance. The bright gilding is in just about perfect condition with very little loss.i
The clock with silk thread suspension eight day time and chime movement is in good working condition, and chimes on a silvered bell with a very pleasant mellow sound. The porcelain chapter dial ring is in almost excellent condition, except for a tiny hairline near 4 o'clock. The period glass dome is in very good condition. There is no scratches or cracks on the glass, only a tiny chips at the bottom edges.
