This clock has a beautiful brass scroll inlay with tortoise shell and mother of pearl inlay done on ebony veneered wood, and this part of the case is enclosed with glass on the front and trimmed with a gold painted frame. Ca.1865. The clock dial is alabaster with gilded "cartouche" around the porcelain numbers and fancy original clock hands. The high quality movement signed by "Marti et cie" from 1860 to 1900. The movement has been cleaned, oiled and adjusted. It runs and chimes 8 days and chimes on the hour and half hour on a very nice sounding gong perfectly. Overall it is in very good original condition with some hairline cracks on numbers X and XI that are extremely hard to see with the naked eye.
