A beautiful antique French mantel clock with a pretty women holding flowers in one hand and a sickle in the other hand. She looks very beautiful while relaxing in serenity. The case with a nice original gilding intact is in very good condition. There are two small gilded leafs missing, one on the left side and the other on the right side that do not effect the looks of the clock (Please see photo). The well made high quality movement by Japy Freres runs and chimes on the hour and half hour on a bell very accurately for 8 days. The porcelain dial has a tiny chip by 5 o'clock and a faint hairline between the 10 and 5 o'clock hardly noticeable. Overall this clock, ca.1860 - 1880, is in very good condition.
