With all the grace of a French bebe Jumeau, this spectacular doll from Sonneberg, Germany, ca 1884, looks like she just bloomed in a field of flowers with her translucent, pale bisque, blue glass eyes, closed mouth with white space between her apricot-colored lips, pierced ears, and soft, rosy cheek shading. She has an antique human hair wig in ribbon-tied pigtails and her French type body is fully jointed including the wrists. She has an expert repair to a tiny patch in the lash area of the lower right eye rim. Her dress of flowing white, mesh-like cotton is scattered with a soft spray of violets, accented with a lavender silk ribbon and a straw, wide-brimmed hat with applied spring flowers. Plenty of undergarment layers boost her skirt to its fullest proportion to finish off her ultra-feminine presentation. Not an easily found mold, this sweet, lovely 136 girl would be right at home displayed with French bebes along with her German sisters.
