RARE Victorian Jeweled Purple Velvet Small Portfolio Purse!

We are pleased to offer for your buying consideration a RARE ANTIQUE FANCY VICTORIAN MINIATURE PURPLE VELVET NECESSAIRE/PORTFOLIO PURSE WITH CONTENTS!

Circa 1900, this HARD TO FIND and ALL ORIGINAL envelope clutch purse is a small BOOK SHAPE, making it the PERFECT ACCESSORY to display with ANTIQUE DOLLS, and is ORNATELY FASHIONED with exterior multi-colored RHINESTONE JEWELS and original gold ORMOLU TRIM; it even retains it's original contents consisting of two CHANGE PURSES tucked inside!

The purse boasts AMAZING and ORIGINAL DETAIL, including it's beautiful rich PURPLE VELVET exterior embellished on top with a decorative ORMOLU SCROLL border trim encrusted with beautiful glittery round rhinestone jewels and pearls, and larger CENTER PLAQUE with oval faux TURQUOISE STONE! When opened, it retains it's original fabulous METALLIC GOLD silk moire taffeta lined interior that has on one side it's original heavy rectangular shaped BEVELED MIRROR, and the other side a compartment that houses it's original small CHANGE PURSES in matching taffeta fabric!

The purse measures a DIMINUTIVE 6" by 4 1/2" and is 1" thick when closed, with the larger and smaller interior purses measuring each 4 3/4' by 3" and 3 3/4" by 3" respectively. Evidenced by the fancy exterior and interior mirror with matching purses, we think this would have been used in latter Victorian times as a lady's dress RETICULE/NECESSAIRE that would have been worn to parties or other FESTIVE OCCASIONS! There is some overall age wear to the exterior velvet including some light stain spots mostly to the back, and the interior mirror shows signs of foxing with some fraying to the inside gold moire silk fabric, but it is completely ALL ORIGINAL and all the stones appear to be present.The age issues do not really detract from the overall AMAZING DETAIL that this little beauty has, and you will find this unique piece still makes an overall STUNNING PRESENTATION!
