Vintage carved shell cameo pin pendant in gold fill. Our beautifully carved estate found cameo depicts Bacchus which is the Roman name for Dionysus. The ancient Greek myth believes Dionysus to be the god of wine-making, orchards and fruit, vegetation, fertility, festivity, insanity, ritual madness.
This cameo is fitted with a pin stick as well as a folding bail which will allow you to wear it as a pin or a pendant . The god of wine is created with grape leaves in his hair that are slightly raised with life like details. Crafted with a bezel set frame that is embellished with flowers and leaves. It has an overall measurement of 1-3/8'' x 1-1/4''. A lovely spring accessory.
