Antique 10K paste pierced earrings in buttercup settings. This darling pair of 10K late Victorian to Edwardian era pierced earrings feature crimped buttercup settings that are accented with paste stones. Paste were very much in vogue during the Victorian era. The faceted glass has a high lead content that gives it an unusual and wonderful sparkle.
The stones are prong set in an elevated position above the buttercup petals. They measure about 3mm each with their crimped petals bringing them to an overall diameter of 6mm each. They are dainty and sweet and will make a comfortable pair to wear for everyday yet they have all the elegance of a pair you would select for bridal jewelry. They retain their screw on style backs and are in very nice antique condition and as you can see there are chips to the edges of the stones . I have not cleaned them.
