Antique Victorian mesh slide bracelet in gold fill with faux coral cameo ornamentation. This antique bracelet is dated on the back of the slide for Jan. 3 1882. I believe it to be hand made with an intricate design that slides to open to an ample 3.5'' width. It will accommodate most wrists as the slide moves back to tighten the band on the wrist. I am not sure if the cameo is original to the bracelet or has been a later addition.
The gold fill .5'' mesh band is formed with a continuous chain of cylinder shaped links that are anchored at each end. They alternate with chased and shiny smooth links. The end of the band is complete with a fox tail tassel end cap. The tassels have a few loose wires but the each contain their beads at the ends. This high quality bracelet has been well cared for and shows only a few spots of wear. It truly wears like gold.
