Antique Victorian tuffet or foot stool with lovely needle work. This beautiful hand work is sure to do the embroiderers guild proud. Dating at least back to the 1900s the needle work is beautifully done on a red background. It has preserved nicely with some wear to the wood frame and fabric as can be seen in the photos.
This tiny foot stool may have been used by a lady to rest her feet or by a small child to sit. A tuffet is a word that is no longer used but is remembered in the nursery rhyme " Little Miss Muffet sat on a Tuffet ".
This wood stool measures about ten and seven eighths of an inch by four and seven eighths of an inch and is tall. It would make a lovely pin cushion or addition to your sewing room.
