Vintage Czech vinaigrette locket necklace with stunning filigree and carnelian glass bead accents. This vinaigrette locket features intricate open floral filigree work. It is a generous size at one and five eighths by one and one eighth of an inch. These lockets were originally worn with a puff of scented cotton tucked inside to allow the pleasant aromas to filter through their openings. The previous owner has added a photo with frames and covers which can easily be removed. This estate jewelry locket has a sturdy construction with nice heft. I believe the center glass bead to have been added.
This fantastic keepsake locket dates at least back to the 1930's. It suspends from an awesome 36'' filigree beaded chain in lavaliere style. The continuous chain does not have a clasp but slips over the head. It is formed with open filigree links that are three eighths of an inch wide. They are linked at each end with two 4mm carnelian colored glass beads. This necklace is in beautiful condition with the slightest of smoothing to the filigree and links.
