Victorian antique natural coral day and night pierced earrings. These wonderful Victorian pierced earrings are crafted to be placed in the ear through the back of the ear lobe and fasten in the front. They have been jeweler tested for 10K . Their pierced ear wires can be worn without the drops which easily slide off. Back in the day the wires would have been used for day ware with the more elaborate drops added for the fancier affairs of the evening.
They have an overall measurement of 1.25'' from the top of the small 5mm coral bead to the bottom of the drop. The drop itself is about five eighths of an inch by almost three eighths of an inch in diameter. The coral bead is embellished with a lovely fluted cap. They have natural inclusions and are a deep orange salmon color. This type of ear wire is early and pre dates wires and posts that would enter through the front of the ear. They date to 1880 or earlier. age appropriate wear.
