Here we have an amazing piece of history and wonderful example of Victorian sentiment. Our circa 1880 bracelet features two beautiful locks of hair, knotted and intertwined. They are forever preserved under glass in this Victorian era locket.
The hair work is beautifully done with blond and brunette strands that are tucked neatly together to form a lovers knot. Their ends embrace eachother at their outer sides to for an eternal lovers knot. It is just a tiny memorial measuring a mere 15mm x 10mm.
This estate bracelet features a center that is hinged and acts as the clasp. All pieces of metal measure 1-3/8'' with the bracelet being 7-1/4'' x 3/4''. The metal is a low karat gold that tests to be about 8K. The back of the locket is engraved HLJ.
This piece is beautifully done with scalloped edges and a wispy chased design. It is in remarkable condition with slight fading to the black velvet band.
