Here we have a very unusual silver snuff - locket that dates at least back to the turn of the century. This tiny piece is adorned with intricate repousse imagery on both sides. It features a cherub bending down killing a chicken.
This estate treasure is hallmarked on one side with a mark I don't recognize. It has been jeweler tested to be at least 800 silver. It measures 1-3/8'' x 1-1/8''. The hinge is a little tight keeping it from snapping shut but it does stay closed. This is a very unusual old snuff.
