This has to be the most wonderful mosaic piece that I have ever had. The flowers are set in a graceful cascading design with the three center blooms raised above the smaller glass tiles at their base. The larger blooms appear to be natural stone rather than glass possibly even coral.
Our Victorian estate treasure is grand in size at 2'' x 1-5/8''. It's frame is an ornate Etruscan Revival style with tiny bead work. It has a tiered construction that that follows up into the shiny black base of the mosaic. I am not sure if it is glass or onyx. This piece can be worn as a pendant or pin.
This beautiful Victorian keepsake is a memorial locket with it's original frame in place on the reverse. Look closely at the photos to see just how beautifully the flowers blend. The stunning backdrop is achieved with tiny purple pieces of glass set to form wisteria blooms.
There is some wear to the black base but this 1880's locket is in otherwise very nice condition with age appropriate wear.
