This is a gorgeous Limoges punch bowl that is completely covered with Roses. The artist has painted soft to darker pink Roses all around the outside and all around the inside of this terrific mold. The Roses are so beautiful; surrounded by their leaves, stems and buds. This is one of the most beautiful molds for a punch bowl - it has a raised Rococo border to perfectly accent the bowl. The ornate border and lower rim are painted in gold. This huge bowl nestles on top of a sturdy plinth/base that is likewise painted in gold.
The punch bowl measures 14" in diameter and stands over 6 1/2" tall. The base diameter is 8" in diameter. Standing on the plinth, the bowl and the base measure 9" tall.
Both pieces are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines. The painting is amazing and captivating - the colors are gorgeous.
The plinth/base is unmarked; the punch bowl is marked with Tressemann & Vogt mark 7, 1892-1907.
