My pictures did no justice to this beautifully painted plaque. You can't see the depth and life to the artistry of the piece in pictures; you need to see it in person. The artist has painted a beautiful young lady of the early 1900's era; dressed in her ruffled blue shirt with a big blue bow in her chestnut hair. Her cheeks are gently rounded & shaded, her straight nose, cupid bow mouth and serene eyes show life and highlights. It is very, very difficult to paint a human face - most of the time, artist's can't capture the life and vitality of a person. This painting is full of life and full of beauty. The artistry and the colors are supreme.
The plaque measures almost 9 1/4" long and 6 1/4" wide. This is a pretty mold with raised detail painted gold.
It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines or wear. It is exquisite.
No porcelain maker's marks.
