This is a nice sized Standard glaze pitcher or jug that is slip decorated with a large Iris on the front. The Iris is sown with it's sturdy, spiking green leaves. I love the look of Standard glaze pottery - with it's deep, dark chocolate brown glaze.
The jug stands a tad over 8" tall and has a circumference of 16 3/4" around. It is a solid, heavy piece.
It looks to be in very good condition with no chips, but it has a couple of glaze missed and some fine crackling to the glaze, which seems to be standard for these old pottery pieces.
It is numbered on the bottom - 117. It looks to be either Weller, Owens or a Roseville factory piece.
