This stunningly beautiful Haviland Limoges plate is signed by Pickard & Brauer artist Arnold Rhodes. He seemed to have worked for all the major Chicago decorating studios at one time or another. His work is certainly dramatic and outstanding. Rhodes has painted clusters of Daisies with against a very rich, deep background of green. There is an irregular border of gold that surrounds the plate to add that final touch to make this plate really "pop". This is a highly unusual rendition of flowers, one I have never seen before. It is, indeed, quite outstanding.
The plate measures 8 3/4" in diameter.
It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines and almost no wear. The design is top notch, the colors are rich and strong; the gold looks gorgeous.
It is marked with Haviland mark 12 and Brauer decorating mark 4, 1910-1916. I have always displayed this beauty alongside the Limoges vase shown with it on the last picture as they look very well together. The vase is listed separately.
