This is a superb T&V Limoges Tankard that is beautifully and dramatically painted with excellent purple, green & blush grapes. The grapes cascade from top to bottom and swirl all around the body of the tankard. The deep brown at the base and handle add rich color to compliment the grapes and the handle is quite delightful; featuring a grape vine twining from bottom to top of the handle and a leaf sticking up. The artist has painted a wide irregular border of thick gold at the top; accenting that with raised gold pastet scroll work. The artist has also continued the gold design over the top of the tankard, showing it dripping down inside. This is quite a spectacular beauty and would take center stage in any porcelain or tankard collection.
The tank stands an impressive 15 1/2" tall.
It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines.
It is marked with Tressemann & Vogt mark 7, 1892-1907.
