This is a wonderful plinth/punchbowl base that is painted with a rich and vibrant Burnt Sienna. The gold has been painted so that it displays a crackling effect on the paint - like the kind of look you'd get on old pottery, but this is definitely porcelain. This is a gorgeous mold - it has no marks but it definitely has the looks of Limoges. It is ornate with curving feet and edges and 4 fleur de lis placed above the feet. I had a Pickard painted fruit bowl placed on top of this and the colors looked absolutely correct together. Many of the Chicago studio pieces use this color combined with gold. It also works great with vases with a wide base. It is very versatile and very hard to find these.
The plinth stands 2" tall, about 7 1/4" from outside foot to outside foot and has a seating diameter of 4 1/2".
It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines.
It in unmarked, but is truly a one of a kind plinth - I've never seen another one like this and it would look great with any Pickard, Donath, Brauer or Stouffer piece using these colors!
