This is a lovely and ornate vintage dresser tray - from the shape of the mold, it has all the earmarks of one of the Limoges factories, although it has no maker's marks. It It is painted with a very happy and pleasing subject - colorful, wandering Morning Glory flowers. They are well done and realistic in rendition. The vines surround the flowers with their ever reaching tendrils. The artist has painted very nice lattice and scroll work to accent the center picture. Some of the the delicate scroll work is painstakingly accented with tiny raised paste beading. The Nouveau rim is painted in thick gold. This is really a wonderful tray.
The tray measures 11 1/4" long and 8 1/4" wide. It stands about 1/2" tall.
It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines or visible wear.
I would estimate the age at early 1900's.
