This is a lovely and very large Limoges Tray with an appealing Art Nouveau shape. It is signed on the back - Mrs. Gray From Clara (Clara is a lovely name that was common at the turn of the last century). The artist has painted wild roses with their branches and curling leaves. She has added a seafoam green irregular border that is enhanced with delightful gold lattice & scroll work with tiny flowers outlined in gold. The border and curving handles are painted in thick gold. This tray has a delicate, soft and very feminine look to it.
The tray measures a very large 17" from handle to handle and 12" across it's widest width.
It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines. The painting is sweetness itself; the colors are wonderful.
This tray is rarely seen marked, but it is most definitely a Limoges blank. Very early 1900's.
