I had this lovely plaque professionally framed several years ago, in a method called "floating" the art work. This beautiful plaque is a painting on porcelain and is very well done with roses on varying shades of blue. The roses and colors really "pop" in this method of framing. The plaque rests on a fabric colored lining and the beaded frame is painted in gold.
The plaque measures 6 1/4" long and 5 1/8" wide. It rests in a frame that measures about 9 1/2" wide by 10 1/2" long.
Both the plaque and the frame are in excellent condition with no damage or wear.
I believe this was marked Limoges on the back, but I can't ruin the framing by taking it off to check. It is definitely painted in the very early 1900's.
