An antique glass cake stand with a double oval design on the top and bands of diamonds for the pattern. This has a raised gallery to hold your cake on the plate to avoid slippage. If you look down at the plate, and turn it slightly, it gives the appearance of being square. The base is oblong with small raised feet. A nice example of Early American Pattern Glass.
Manufacturer: Adams & Company; it is known as Adams NR 120 pattern. This help us date to c. 1884 for a manufacturing year. A rare pattern glass stand that is only referenced in one book on EAPG glass.
Measurements: 12 inches in diameter with 9 1/4 inch inside diameter and 7 inches tall.
Condition: We find a rough patch on outside rim edge but nothing to be concerned over. We actually felt this with our finger tips before seeing it. The underside pattern on the plate shows a few bites but these are small and our camera refused to focus on them. We show a straw mark on the top of the plate and some light scratches from utensil use but all in all this is in good antique condition. We have priced this accordingly for such a rare piece of EAPG.
