The pattern, Art, also known as Jacob's Tears, Job's Tears, and Teardrop & Diamond Point, was made by Adams & Company, circa 1889; United States Glass Company, 1891. This cake stand is just so elegant and could be used not only for cakes but pastries and candy. The 'tears' decorate the interior of the cake plate and the base of the pedestal. The rim has upside down tears to make an icing lip and curtain.
We did not find any issues with this. There is some wear marks but no breakage. We do find manufacturing inclusions which are typical for this period of glass.
