A stunning example of Victorian glass is this cake stand known as Three Face. Other names are Three Graces, Three Sisters or Three Fates. It is actually George Duncan and Sons NR 400 and was manufactured in 1878. The story is that George used a likeness of his wife for the mold.
There are three charming faces that decorate the frosted pedestal. Above the faces we see a cluster of flowers. Look at the great detail in the mold. The faces have a Mona Lisa smile. These were reproduced in the 9 inch size. This one is an original and measures 10 1/4 inches. We see that all of the decoration is on the stem. The glass cake is plain.
The foot has a rippled pattern and is also frosted. We find the only damage is at the rim of the foot in the form of a tiny flake off the glass.; which we have pictured. We have priced accordingly.
