A German porcelain berry set featuring a three well master bowl with gold center handle. The server is perfect for three different berry types. Each section has 4 sides totaling twelve in all with pointed areas separating the wells. The handle is heavily gilded and the artist has decorated this with red gooseberries and green leaves against a creamy background. We see just a hint of gold decorating the rims. Measures 9 1/2 inches at the widest.
The set includes 8 sided individual bowls that are decorated to match the serving bowl. Each has just a bit of gold at the rim with multiple berries and leaves trailing along one side of the bowl. Each measures 4 3/4 inches at the center.
All pieces are hallmarked by the C.S. Prussia factory with the cloverleaf mark. Mary Frank Gaston dates this mark from 1882-1912. We would say it is the later part of this time period based on the mold design which has cleaner lines. We did not find a bit of damage to any of the bowls. All are in remarkable condition for their age.
