An antique glass cake stand or salver that features etched oak leaves and flowers on the plate. We have seen an ivy pattern for this cake stand but seldom an oak leaf. This particular piece is called Dakota or Baby Thumbprint which was manufactured by Ripley Glass and dates to c. 1880s.
We find a straw mark on the top of the plate which we have pictured. This was done during manufacturing and attests to its age. There are a few minimal use marks but we did not find damage to the glass.
This lovely cake stand measures about 6 3/4 inches tall, 9 3/8 inches diameter across the rim and 5 1/4 inches across the base. A real antique beauty!
