A fabulous vintage press glass perfume bottle featuring a peacock on the stopper. The peacock has its head bent in towards the center with its wing and body making up the exterior rim. This is hard to notice when you first look at it. But then you see it there and it is just splendid! The back of the stopper is smoother glass. The peacock is in a reverse position but still there. We see a diamond pattern in the center of the stopper that is repeated on the tall bottle. Both pieces fit perfectly and were made for each other.
We do not know the maker on this particular piece. We would say that it is American made and dates to the early 1910s for a time period maybe just a touch earlier. Such a lovely item that reminds us of the Victorian art nouveau era so it could be just at the end of that era.
Measuring from the top of the stopper to bottom of the bottle this stands 7 3/4 inches tall. We did not find any damage. You do see bubbles in the glass from the manufacturing process. A very very unique perfume bottle!
