An early 20th Century porcelain cake plate featuring white tulips surrounded by a gold medallion border. The rim is hand painted in gold with detailed gold beading and swirls. There are molded handles on two sides.
This lovely cake plate was manufactured by the Erdmann Schlegelmilch Prussia factory. Their Prov. Sxe. mark tells us that this dates to c. 1920s.
Measuring a large 10 inches from handle to handle and just under 10 inches in the other direction. Aside from a tiny bit of gold wear, we could not detect any damage. There is a bit of gold paint on the back from when this was originally decorated. This is a factory issue and attests to its hand painted design.
