A pair of glasses also known as Pince Nez that have an attached gold hair pin. These earlier eyeglasses pinched the bridge of your nose to stay in place. This particular pair is for a lady as they have the gold chain attached to one lens with a hair pin at the end. This would help secure the glasses when hair pin was inserted into a bun or braided hairdo.
We do not see a maker on this pair. The bridge does have a prescription inscribed in it as well as 10K for the gold bridge and pin. The chain we think is gold filled. We would place these in the 1900 - 1920s .
The glass alone measure 4 1/4 inches long and the hairpin and chain are 12 inches long. We find a bit of wear to the one bifocal. It looks as if this area of the lens was added if needed. Other than that, we find these in excellent condition. They even have their own case.
