An Edwardian gold tone hair pin featuring an arched design at the top. This has a fine link chain that would attach to your glasses and the pin would tuck into your hair. The glasses would have been frame-less and were called pince nez. This hair pin would hold and secure the glasses in case they fell off the nose. Very ingenious!
We did not find a manufacturing stamp on this. We would place it in the beginning of the 1910s based on the design; possibly 1920.
The pin itself measures 2 1/4 inches and the chain alone measures 9 1/4; add them up to 11 1/2 inches long over all. This is in lovely condition with just a bit of wear to the gold finish which we detected with a jewelers loupe.
