An early 20th century purse featuring a pouch design. We find the exterior to be made of leather and the interior lined with silk. The silver metal clasp has a very decorative medallion that decorates the top part of the purse. It is hard to say weather this was for a man or a woman. Both could easily have carried their valuables with it.
We did not find a manufacturers mark on the clasp or metal areas. We would place this in the first quarter of the 20th Century for a manufacturing time frame.
Measurements: 6 inches long, 4 inches wide at the widest bottom area and 1 1/2 inches wide at the top. We see some age related wear to this but surprisingly, the interior looks pretty good. Some wear to the leather at the bottom.
