An antique sterling silver money clip that features an Art Nouveau design along the top. We see that this has been engraved on the front with W.H. Bacon in fancy script. The back narrows in to form a clip to hold paper money. May also be used as a book mark but with the space at the top, it would be clipped to more than one page to hold firmly.
We find a hallmark on the back that tells us this was made by E.H.H. Smith Silver Co., which was located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The mark helps us date to c. 1907.
Measuring 2 1/4 inches long we find a bit of age related patina in the silver work. A very decorative way to carry your paper money.
