An antique glass covered compote featuring a thistle pattern on the lid and bowl. We see this crowned with a glass thistle as the finial. This is a low stand compote with a wide body. Look at the leaves that decorate the glass.
This pattern was produced by Bryce, Walker & Co. and dates to c. 1872. The pattern is aptly known as Thistle.
Measuring 8 inches tall we find this has received some damage over the years. The lid has a ding off of the interior as does the bowl. The thistle finial also has some dings. We have priced accordingly due to this damage. A hard to find item which still presents beautifully and is perfect for an Autumn table setting.
