An antique glass cake stand that features a double oval design on the top with bands of diamonds for the pattern. This has a raised gallery to hold your cake on the plate and avoid slipping. If you look down at the plate, and turn it slightly, this gives the appearance of being square. The base is oblong with small raised feet. A nice example of EAPG glass.
Manufactured by Adams & Co. it is known as Adams NR 120 pattern. This help us date to c. 1884 for a manufacturing time frame. A rare pattern glass stand that is only referenced in one book on EAPG glass.
Measures 12 inches in diameter with 9 1/4 inch inside diameter and 7 inches tall. We find a rough patch on outside rim edge but nothing to be concerned over. We actually felt this with our finger tips before actually seeing it. The underside pattern on the plate shows a few bites but these are small and our camera refused to focus on them. We show a straw mark on the top of the plate and some light scratches from utensil use but all in all this is in good antique condition. We have priced this accordingly.
